Remembrances for the renewal of the Peruvian cultural restitution
Main Article Content
Abstract
Note that the return in 2011 to Cuzco of the movable cultural property of Machupicchu that Hiram Bingham took with him to Yale University between 1909 and 1916 was partial, that is, there to many pendings; then observe that the return to Cuzco of the Echenique Plate in June 2021 represents the successful culmination of a Peruvian-American management that honors the respective pre-Columbian origins of both countries; and finally be aware that the Peruvian Catholic Church still does not participate by its own initiative in the recovery of the works of art stolen in the so-called 'sacrilegious robberies' in Cuzco. I present these three cases because Cuzqueños are the Peruvians that are most interested in the recovery of their movable cultural heritage stolen/ smuggled out of the country.
