The domestication of the jaguar. Approach to ontological change from the tecuan dance
Main Article Content
Abstract
Based on ethnographic data of the Mixtecos de la Montaña and the mestizo rancheros of Tierra Caliente de Guerrero, about the tecuan dance, in this article a reinterpretation of the meaning of the dance is proposed. Without ignoring the contributions of the works carried out by Horcasitas and Elfego Adán, among others, I propose that the meaning of the tecuan dance can be inscribed in the wild / domesticated duality, a dichotomy that in our opinion constitutes a principle of classification of the musical elements of the dance and the feasts of request of rains.
