Abstract

This issue presents a Dossier that continues with the anthropological analysis of the social history of the Cemanáhuac at the time of the Hispanic invasion. It analyzes the strategies employed by the Mexica to maintain their dominion over the provinces, on the one hand, and the rebellions that took place on the part of the dominated societies, on the other. This explains why, upon the arrival of the Spaniards, they arrived in lands in conflict, which allowed Cortés to weave a series of alliances with the enemies of the Mexica.
