Abstract

In this article we present part of the conclusions of an investigation aimed at contrasting some considerations raised in historical sources about the possible cultural and/or political affiliation of the inhabitants of the Totolapa site during the late Postclassic and early Colonial period, from archaeological materials. Along with analyzing the role of the Totolapa site in the regional dynamics of the northeast portion of the Central Depression and its relationship with Los Altos de Chiapas.
